This is a track off of Wiley’s latest release- 100% Publishing. The album as a whole is worth a grab. Wiley’s simple approach to this track in particular shouldn’t be overlooked. It seems as if he has finally began to shy away from the busy layering in his beats. Overall, he still displays solid production with his typical quirky lyricism. The beat is very Bangladesh/Diplo esque. (ie. Look At Me Now)
Burial and Shlohmo is one combination I can live with. There is so much space sitting around the separate instruments for you to fill with whatever is on your mind. There are some pretty fantastic simple ideas introduced in this remix that really fit. Great tune for the end of a set.
Pusha T and Tyler the Creator talk about how cool they are over a great Pharell beat. Tyler manages to stay creative while regurgitating lyrical events from tracks circa Bastard and Goblin. I am really liking this one. A little vulgarity for your sweet summer.
I know this tune is a little old but I am obsessed with it. Sbtrkt is one of the freshest guys in the dubstep/smart electronic scene (UK of course). Little Dragon voice sits pretty forward in the mix on top of some sparse drums and dry “wobbles” and whoops or whatever you kids call them these days. Choon.
Camp Bisco was smart. If you were at Bisco, you know how smart and wet everything gets now. DāM-FunK knows this and he probably doesn’t care about Camp Bisco. The 80′s clicky bass and typical DāM synthwork fits in too nicely with your lazy sunday. Hit the arrow to the right of the soundwave to download.
Oooo Booty Thrill gets the special font. So happy I can
present yet another one of my friends that makes
sick music.
Booty Thrill is a funky electronic producer out of
Texas that resides in Boston (whatup).
His disco samples get pumping with
some tasty pulsing slow-funky-house kits.
His tracks taste like MJ and smell like James Pants.
The synths are tastefully thrown back into the 80's
with some more modern grindy bass on some of the tracks.
Be on the lookout for this kid!
